Retaliation
Children or their guardians should not be retaliated against for reporting crimes.
This little girl, we will call Angel, is afraid she is being retaliated against after bravely telling her story.
Her Story

1 very brave girl
Angel told her parent one day that she had tried to die. When asked why, she said a man had been abusing her. So the parent took her to the doctor.
Reporting
too busy
After doctors visit, they began working on reporting to local police. No traction, no call backs. Tried the larger city police, they transferred them every time back to the locals when explicitly asked not to because of them previously not picking up.
Retaliation

After escape from the situation, the abuser continued to abuse the small family, filing restraining orders after they had escaped and moved on.
Later, they get a mail from children services saying that the parent was in fact the abuser, not who Angel said it was.
They are wrong
My Father
Never hurt me, yelled at me, grabbed me by the neck, or turned off my computer or grabbed my phone. That was my abuser. ~Angel
We need protection
These people are destroying our lives and we are just getting back on our feet. We are vulnerable, and can use any help finding an attorney or paying for one.
Two lives may depend on it.
All We Have is Us
We have hearings etc. approaching but have absolutely no legal support. When we appear without a lawyer, they will never let ME, the victim, talk at all. I feel they won’t hear me.
